You will want to do some research. Ask the pet store, friends, family, or even co-workers. You can also find reviews and opinions online for all the different products. Research your species of fish first, to see what is the best or recommended.

So, which is better; TetraMin or TetraColor? The TetraMin is formulated with vitamins, biotin, and Omega-3 fatty acids. These are designed to strengthen your fish’s immune system. TetraColor promotes beautiful color but also has vitamin C and is enhanced with ProCare, which is health-enhancing.

Some hobbyists and aquarists love a certain brand, and others don’t really have a preference. Some fish like one brand better than another. It is all trial and error and your personal preference on what brand and what style you choose to feed your fish.

Types of Tetras Fish

TetraMin and TetraColor can be fed to other tropical fish, but are made for the Tetra fish. There are 150 different species in the Tetra family; Black Skirt, Neon, Green Neon, Congo, Bloodfin, and Rummy Nose are just a few. Tetras are beautifully colored fish who love low light areas to hide and a habitat that is densely planted.

The Tetra prefer to be in schools, so you want to have a minimum of 6 Tetras in your tank together. This keeps them healthy, happy and reduces stress because they are not alone.

Their main prey, when they are in their natural habitat, consists of algae, plankton, and brine shrimp. A Tetras lifespan is 2-5 years if they are properly cared for.

Tetras prefer Tropical Flakes, Color Flakes, Tropical Granules, and Shrimp Pellets. So all of the TetraColor and TetraMin that we mentioned above are prime options for your freshwater tropical fish.
